Pavla Lovše
Soprano Pavla Lovše Bole was born on 13 January 1891 in Ljubljana. She studied solo singing at the Conservatory in Ljubljana under Matej Hubad, and studied in Rijeka, Vienna and Milan. She was She was a soloist at numerous concerts of the Musical Matica, and otherwise a highly respected concert singer. Her programme included mainly Slovenian songs and samosongs. She also gave several first performances of Slovenian composers' autosongs. With pianist Dana Kobler Golia and Kobler Kobler Golia, gave concerts throughout Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia. She was a soloist at the Ljubljana Opera, where in 1921-27 she performed in several more than twenty lyric and coloratura roles. In 1928 she went on tour to the United States, where she sang Slovenian songs. As a teacher, she trained a number of later renowned concert and opera singers. She died on 22. June 1964 in Ljubljana.
